The Eagles This Saturday!

Hey - if you live in Vermillion, what are you doing this Saturday? Nothing, right? I mean, you live in Vermillion. So, why not saunter, sashay, or trudge on over to the Eagles to see us, along with At Ease. It's a benefit for Sigma Tau Delta, so a portion of the proceeds will go that fine organization. We'll be playing a bunch of new songs, and Skip will challenge Joe Raiche to a yodeling contest and/or mixed martial arts cage match. See you there!

New Songs

In what might be described as a minor epiphany, I have realized that we may actually have the occasional visitor to our little corner of the virtual wasteland if I updated things once in a while, posted the odd message, added some pictures, etc. So, as part of this newfound effort at actual...effort, here we go.

We (i.e., the merry lads of the Feed) have been hard at work (OK, not really very hard at work) on some new material, sure to set your feet a-tapping. Check it out on our MySpace page, easily accessible at this ridiculously long URL: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=364551790. The latest tunes are "Called," penned by Dennis, and "Two Roads," by Skip. "Two Roads," for a variety of reasons, has been in the works longer than that new Guns n Roses album, but this is where the similarities end (except for Skip's drug-fueled tirades, repeated firings of the band, and absurd faux-dreadlocks). "Called," in contrast came together rather quickly, and features "doo-wops," believe it or not. These, along with two other newer songs on ye olde MySpace, "Somebody Else" and "People's Republic of America," will be featured on our forthcoming CD, tentatively entitled, "When Are You Guys Ever Going to Have a Gig?"

You'll have to wait a bit for that one, Axl, but in the meantime, remember that our first CD, "My Friend Roger the Entomologist" makes a great stocking stuffer, as does the stylin' Narrative Feed T-shirt, made from Organic Cotton no less. If I can figure out how to sell these on the web, I will do so. Maybe I need one of those Video Professor CD-ROMs. For now, though, send me an email at john@narrativefeed.com for more info. (CDs $5, shirts $12).

OK, I'll update things better for a little while at least, I promise. Until then, may [deity of choice] offer his/her blessings for a peaceful [insert appropriate holiday].

Blood, Sweat, and... well, mostly blood

Hey, check this out! Here is some of Skip's actual blood, from the Ribs, Rods, and Rock and Roll show. Such is what comes of rockin' too hard, I suppose.

Harvest this!

We'll be playing at the Washington Street Arts Center, 202 Washington Street, Vermillion, SD this Saturday, Sept. 13 at 8:30 for the Vermillion Area Arts Council's "Harvest of the Arts". It's an all-day event featuring poetry readings, a silent auction, potluck dinner, and several artists displaying and selling their works. It's free! Beer and wine for sale! What else are you doing?

GIT YR FEED ON!
Hey folks -- we'll be playing at the South Dakota State Barbeque Championships on 12 Noon, Saturday, Sept. 6 in downtown Vermillion. Check out their website for more info on the event... http://www.sdbbqchampionship.com.
Come see 3/4 of us "semi-unplugged" this Saturday, July 12 at 9pm at Raziel's on Main St. in Vermillion!
